Meeting: 5th February 2014
Writers are always looking for inspiration and where better to look than in the news?
The news is full of colorful characters, from the lowliest criminal to the most glamorous celebrity.
Stuck for a plot? Why not use an idea based on something which has really happened to give your story an air of authenticity?
Newspapers could also give you ideas on settings you might not have considered.
The news is jam-packed with starting points for creative writing ideas, all you need to do is season it with a little imagination and you could have a great story.
We have looked at some headlines (see below) and thought about how we could turn news into fiction. Please add your own ideas or comments about the suggestions made.
