Following on from the success of The Reader, the club, now expanded with some new members, has begun a new team writing project; a series of children's books about a group of Camper Vans. The idea has come from a commission from the family of one of the club members, now in Year 11, who have a business called Rainbow Camper Hire in Keswick. Pupils are working in small groups to write seven individual but inter-linking stories about each of the vans.
Next meeting: Thursday 8th January 2015
Friday 12th December
The club worked with illustrator, Liz Million, to decide how to use pictures to accompany the stories.
Tuesday 17th June
The club visited the vans!
Wednesday 11th June
Members worked in groups, using the ideas generated in the last session, to plan the individual story for each van. It's looking good!
Wednesday 21st May
The club worked with Dave Cryer to think about developing the characters of the vans in order to write character based stories. There were also discussions about the problems that could feature in each story and how the vans could overcome this.
